GARY, Ind. — Funeral services for Johnnie L. Young will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rising Sun M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Johnnie Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Young died Monday, April 9, 2012, in Gary. He was 63.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Selvin Young and Ruth Moore Young; a son, Cory Young; and a sister, Loretta Young.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris Summage-Young of Port Gibson; his stepmother, Katie Young of Port Gibson; two daughters, Bobbie S. Jefferson of Pattison and Nicholle Young-Rankin of Vista, Calif.; two sons, Lavanthen Humphrey of Chicago and Tashad Bowens of Gary; five stepchildren, Sharon Young, Willie Young, Sharlett Thompson, Warren Young and Victoria Young, all of Port Gibson; three sisters, Willie Ruth Young and Kanika Young, both of Port Gibson, and Francene Young-Lee of St. Paul, Minn.; three brothers, Lawrence Young of Pattison, Navondyl Young of St. Louis, and Selvin Young Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; one uncle; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
