Swinford and other district officials met with Spann Monday, she said, to work out the details of his return to duty.

Spann, a resident of Clinton, was named the district’s special education director in October 2010 at a salary of $77,430.

He was reappointed for the 2012-13 school year by the VWSD trustees in February.
