Harold J. Glisson died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 82.

Mr. Glisson was a retired auto mechanic and a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Yazoo City. He loved fishing, reading and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harold Dennis Glisson.

Survivors include his wife, Melba Glisson of Vicksburg; a son, Darrell Glisson and his wife, Christine, of Oxford; a brother, Jimmy Glisson of Rolling Fork; a sister, Jeanne McConnell and her husband, Billy, of Yazoo City; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Clay McConnell, Marc McConnell, Thad Hood, Griffin Hood, Austin Hood and Will Hood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 780, Yazoo City, MS 39194.
