Tighten up your corsets and fluff out your petticoats. Scarlett O’Hara is coming to town. “Gone With The Wind” will be shown at the Strand Theatre, 717 Clay St., at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, said Daniel Boone, owner of the Highway 61 Coffeehouse.
Boone said response to past movie screenings at the Strand has grown and he is excited to be bringing Margaret Mitchell’s story of the South to Vicksburg.
“The film is being leased from Warner Brothers and will be high definition quality,” said Boone.
Tickets cost $7 in advance and $8 at the door, which will for renting the movie released in 1939, Boone said.
“We are also planning to offer a little snack during intermission,” Boone said.
The snack will include ham, biscuits and iced tea, he said. A concession stand and cash bar also will be available.
Boone suggested bringing a cushion for the theater seats. “They (the seats) are wooden,” he said.
Tickets are available at the coffeehouse, 1101 Washington St. and by visiting www.westsidetheatrefoundation.com. or The Strand, 717 Clay St.
