Light wind and cloud cover kept the crowd cool while they hotly anticipated headliner Easton Corbin.

The threat of rain kept the RiverFest crowd at bay early in the night, but people began filing in about 8 p.m. and by 8:30 the north stage area where Corbin was set to perform at 10:30 was bustling with people.

The crowd was expected to top 5,000 by the end of the night, RiverFest organizer Jole Angle said.

Felicia and Adam Logue and their 11-month-old daughter, Lily, all of Vicksburg sat on a park bench near the south end of festival eating a gigantic fried onion and a basket of fried shrimp.

The couple had come out to enjoy some festival food before taking their daughter home for the night, Adam Logue said.

“We’re going to eat and go home and then come back,” he said.

“We really want to see Easton Corbin play,” Felicia Logue said.

Corbin, who has produced a string of country hits in his short career, was expected to be the biggest draw of RiverFest, organizers have said.
