Vicksburg native Scot B. Ehrgott was named government engineer of the year by the Mississippi Engineering Society at its annual banquet in March, MES executive director Malinda Battey said.

Ehrgott is director of consulting services for the Mississippi Deparment of Transportation and Development. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University and a master of business administration from Millsaps College.
