Charles F. Johnson Jr.

Charles F. Johnson Jr. died Sunday, April 29 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 88.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Enid, Okla., and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 78 years. He retired from Waterways Experiment Station as a personnel officer. He served in the Army in World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of Porters Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nelda W. Johnson of Vicksburg; three sons, Charles F. Johnson III of Jackson, Richard R. Johnson of Vicksburg and Andrew W. Johnson of Brandon; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Richard Johnson Jr., James Johnson, Andrew Johnson Jr., Andrew Johnson, Mackin Johnson and Jimmy McCaskill.
