Mississippi native and winner of the NBC show “The Biggest Loser”, Patrick House, has written a new book — “As Big as a House: How One Biggest Loser Winner Took a Look at Himself and Made the Change of a Lifetime”
House unveiled the book last weekend at the SuperTalk Mississippi Health and Fitness Expo being held at the Trade Mart in Jackson.
“While my book is scheduled to be released nationally, it was extremely important to me to unveil it first in Mississippi,” House said. “People throughout this state have been so supportive of me throughout and since my Biggest Loser journey, and I want to say thanks.”
House said he knows Mississippi is one of the most obese states in the country, even joking he once contributed to that statistic.
After losing almost half his body weight and changing his lifestyle for the better, House said he is now committed to helping others make the change of a lifetime by sharing everything he has learned.
Since winning “The Biggest Loser” House has conducted his LEAN ON ME, childhood obesity program, which stands for Learn, Eradicate, Advocate, Nullify, Obesity Now in Mississippi’s Educational system.
Over the last nine months, House has presented LEAN ON ME to 31 elementary schools in front of over 15,000 students.
“As Big as a House” recounts the author’s inspiring story and provides an inside look at his Biggest Loser journey. The book tackles the psychological aspects of weight loss, as well as tips for diet and exercise. The book also includes a section written by House’s wife, Bradley, who lost 50 pounds and changed her family’s unhealthy habits while her husband was away for the show.
Patrick House won Season 10 of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” in 2010. He currently spends his time traveling the country speaking to various groups about obesity. He lives in Vicksburg with Bradley and their two children.
