Hull was convicted of sale of cocaine in 1993 and possession of cocaine in 2002. Since his arrest, Hull has remained in the Warren County Jail without bail.

John Phillip Hart, 24, 1408 Sherman Ave., is accused of a Jan. 6 drive-by shooting that injured 4-year-old Arkeevian Warfield at 20 Water Well Road in Kings. Arkeevian was treated at University Medical Center and released Jan. 8. At the time of the shooting, police estimated that 17 people were living in the house.

Hart was on the lam until March 29 when he was arrested at 625 Hart Drive and charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling and 16 counts of aggravated assault. Since his arrest he has been in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $275,000 bail.

Kevin Buck, 26, 20 Water Well Road, is accused of shooting a man in the back March 1 on Ford Road in Kings. Buck, who is the uncle of Arkeevian, was charged with aggravated assault in the shooting. Police have said the shootings were not related. Buck posted $15,000 bond and was released but was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on March 27. Buck was convicted of robbery and armed robbery in 2002, according to court records. He was arrested in April 2010 by Vicksburg police for sale of cocaine but has not been indicted.

Since his arrest on the weapons charge, Buck has been held without bail in the Warren County Jail.

Willie McCoy, 60, 100 Brister Road, is accused of shooting Kayla Allen, 200 block of Lampkin Mountain Road, in the abdomen and leg March 4 at Sunrise Mart, 20 Freetown Road. McCoy is charged with three counts of aggravated assault. He posted $90,000 bond and was released March 6.

Eric Wallace, 30, 7160 Warriors Trail, is accused of a drive-by shooting March 31 at LD’s on Mulberry Street. Wallace, who is confined to a wheelchair because he was the victim of a drive-by shooting, has been held without bail since his arrest. The shooting was the 19th gun-related crime since 2005 that Wallace has been a suspect in, police Chief Walter Armstrong said.

The grand jury might also hear the case of Sunflower Mayor Michael Pembleton Jr., 25, 417 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Sunflower. Pembleton is accused of embezzlement from Dillard’s in the Vicksburg Mall where he was an employee. Pembleton was arrested March 13. He posted $50,000 bail and was released.

The panel of 18 grand jurors was chosen this morning from a pool of about 250 registered voters and sworn in by presiding Judge Isadore Patrick. They will review about 100 criminal cases and issue indictments if there is enough evidence to go to trial. If indicted, defendants will be arraigned, or formally advised of the charges against them and given a trial date, beginning Friday in circuit court.

In addition to reviewing evidence in criminal cases, jurors will tour the Warren County Jail, Youth Court and Children’s Shelter and meet with Judge Johnny Price and other county officials. They will also prepare a report of recommendations for the Board of Supervisors.
