George Lee Jones

George Lee Jones died Saturday, May 5, 2012, as the result of an auto accident. He was born Nov. 18, 1939, in Maben, Miss. He was 72. He served in the United States Air Force. He has been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 40 years. He owned and operated Three Rivers Transit Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.G. and Lucille Jones; two brothers Curtis and Shannon Jones, three sisters, Betty Jean Kirksey, Louise Sanders and Daisy Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jones; four sons, Paul Jones of Fayetteville, Ark., Pat Guin of West Monroe and Waylon Jones and Alton Jones, both of Vicksburg; three daughters, Pam Jones and Patrice Finn, both of Lake Charles, La., and Jenny Sullivan of Vicksburg; four grandsons, Phillip Bernard and Brandon Monceaux, both of Lake Charles, and Tyler Jones and Holden Bowman, both of Monroe; 11 granddaughters, Paige Bernard of Lake Charles, Whitney Guin, Mattie Jones and Grace Jones, all of Monroe, and Kelsey Anderson, Georgia Fulwood, Morgan Fulwood, Lynzie Sullivan, Piper Sullivan, Ashton Jones and Finley Jones, all of Vicksburg; one great-grandson, Bryce Ihler of Lake Charles; two sisters, Shirley Holman of Vicksburg and Bonnie Fortner of Lake Charles; two brothers, David Jones and Jessie Jones, both of Vicksburg; nieces; and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Marty Comans, Bubba Comans, James Cook, John Parks, Roger Brock and Rocky Howard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Fairchild, Robert McCullough and Bill West.
