Doris Franklin died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 58.

Mrs. Franklin was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Polk and Georgia Phelps Polk Gibson; a sister, Annette Polk; a brother, Robert Dale Polk; and her grandparents, Ned Lee Polk, Aron Polk Sr., Annie Williams and Lemon Phelps.

She is survived by three daughters, Erica Essaka of South Bend, Ind., Katrina Franklin of Vicksburg and Barbara Phelps of Port Gibson; five brothers, Melvin Polk of Port Gibson, Willie Polk of Chicago, Dennis Smith of Vicksburg, Ronnie Polk of Carpenter and Maurice Polk of San Gabriel, Calif.; one granddaughter; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at White Hall M.B. Church in Pattison with the Rev. Troy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
