Services for George “Boots” McGloster Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greater Zion Travelers M.B. Church with the Rev. Robert L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 until 6 at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.

Mr. McGloster died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 91.

Mr. McGloster was a member of Greater Mount Olive No. 2 M.B. Church where he served as president of the usher board for 54 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sofronia “Sophie” McGloster; his son, Lloyd David Yelder; his parents, George Sr. and Cornelia Harris McGloster; his brother, Antonio Davis; and his sister, Cornelia Lizabell Miller.

He is survived by his companion, Emma Maxwell of Vicksburg; caregivers, Margie Herron and Betty Grant, both of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including Patricia and Sylvia Harper of St. Louis, Mo., and the Harris, McGloster and McKenzie families of Port Gibson and Red Lick and the Maxwell and Goodman families of Vicksburg.
