• Alexis Sturgis of Vicksburg received an Outstanding Student-Athlete Award for women’s basketball during Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Awards Day ceremonies.

• Ashton Giambrone of Vicksburg was selected for membership in the Mississippi State Choir and has received an MSU Choral Activities Award scholarship. An incoming freshman, she will pursue a degree in bioengineering with an emphasis in biomedical. She is the daughter of Mindy and Joe Giambrone.

• Warren Central High School senior Kayla Kemp, the daughter of Jeffery and Georgia Kemp, has been named the recipient of the Sarah Gardner Memorial Grant-in-Aid of Chi chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma international honor society for educators. The Chi chapter recognizes an outstanding graduate annually with the grant, given in memory of the late Sarah Gardner, one of the founders of the local organization.
