Services for Charles Edward Truitt Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with Willie Nettle officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Truitt died Monday, May 7, 2012. He was 44.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and worked as a concrete finisher.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Mae Truitt; and his grandmother, Julia Jones.

He is survived by a son, Charles Edward Truitt Jr. of Vicksburg; a daughter, Shonta Truitt of Vicksburg; two brothers, Terrence Truitt and Joe Truitt, both of Vicksburg; one sister, Mary Truitt-Carson of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives including the Wells, Frazier, Newton and Carson families of Vicksburg and Utica.
