Grace Marie Atkins died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.

Mrs. Atkins was born in Claiborne County and lived most of her life in Vicksburg. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Atkins Sr.; her parents, Buford and Lucy Pettway; a sister, Blanche Puckett; and three brothers, Garnett, Buford and Joe Pettway.

Survivors include her son, Richard G. Atkins Jr. of Vicksburg; two daughters, Linda Atkins Murphy of Baton Rouge and Ramona Atkins Miles of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Andrews officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until the service at the funeral home.
