RAYMOND — Janie Harper Jones, 93, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at the Riggs Manor Retirement Home.

Born July 27, 1918, in Hazlehurst, she had made her home in Vicksburg for more than 60 years. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Vicksburg, where she worked in the nursery for many years. For the past few years, she had been making her home at Riggs Manor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Udelle T. Jones.

Survivors include her son, David B. Jones and his wife, Lori J. Fulton, of Jackson; grandchildren, Natalie Davis and husband Mike of Memphis and Emily Jones of Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Michael and Henry Davis of Memphis.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with the Rev. Jim Hess officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.
