EDWARDS — Services for James L. Reed Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Reed died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Patients’ Choice Medical Center in Port Gibson. He was 83.

He was an Edwards resident and a veteran of the Army, having served in the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Reed; his parents, James L. Reed Sr. and Eddie Bell Reed; a brother, John Reed; and a sister, Ruby Lee Polk.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret V. Reed of Jackson; one son, Kevin Reed of California; two daughters, Loweska Bandy and Vanessa Reed, both of California; one sister, Ruby Jennings of Greenville; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Deloris Reed Robinson and Robert Robinson of Baton Rouge.
