The Vicksburg Warren School District and its superintendent are featured in the May edition of “All About Executives” magazine.

The article, titled “Partners in Preparation,” profiles Dr. Elizabeth Swinford and the district’s career pathways program, which helps students explore career goals with surveys and exposure to certain courses starting in the seventh grade, two years earlier than the Mississippi Department of Education requires.

The program also helps the district identify students interested in technical, medical, professional and non-traditional careers and plan schedules and course offerings, it states.

Swinford’s leadership in promoting local career fairs and instituting academic programs leading to increases in standardized test scores is noted in the article.
