A Culkin Volunteer firefighter walks towards the remains of Earl Simmons’ home and art workshop, 6444 Warriors Trail, Saturday evening in Bovina. The call went out at 4:40 p.m., and flames were reaching 60 feet high when volunteer firefighters from Bovina and Culkin arrived. Simmons was not home when the fire started. Another home owned by Simmons at the same address was destroyed by fire in 2002.
