A Vicksburg man and his three children were in a Jackson hospital today following an early- morning wreck on the Interstate 20 westbound on-ramp at Halls Ferry Road.

Michael Pinky, 26, 205 Sioux St., driving a 1998 Ford Ranger, was attempting to get on the interstate just after midnight when he lost control of the pickup and struck a tree on the left, between the ramp and the highway, said police Capt. Bobby Stewart.

Pinky and his 6-year-old son, Ladarius McCloud, same address, were flown to University Medical Center, Stewart said. Pinky’s condition was still being evaluated at midmorning, while Ladarius was in serious condition, said UMC spokesman Patrice Guilfoyle.

Pinky’s daughters, Keambree McCloud, 4, and Naudia McCloud, 2, who also live at the family home off U.S. 61 South near Alfred Drive, were taken to River Region Medical Center and later transferred to UMC, Stewart said. Each was in fair condition at midmorning, Guilfoyle said.

Pinky was cited at the scene for reckless driving, no insurance and child restraint violations, police Lt. Jackie Johnson said.
