City man jailed for shoplifting from retail store

A Vicksburg man accused of stealing designer shirts and a television was held without bail today.

Jason Lane, 25, 400 Mission 66, Apartment B1, was charged with felony shoplifting at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

Lane is accused of stealing 10 Polo shirts valued at $89.50 each from Dillard’s, 3505 Pemberton Square Blvd., Stewart said.

Lane was identified from the store’s surveillance video and arrested Tuesday as he was walking near Hays and Grove streets, Stewart said.

At 8:50 a.m. today, Lane also was charged with residential burglary. In that theft, Lane is accused of stealing a 60-inch television June 7 from a residence in the 1900 block of Baldwin Ferry Road, Stewart said.

Other burglary charges against Lane might be forthcoming, Stewart said.

Lane was held without bail pending his initial appearance today in municipal court.
