Ruby Earline Johnson, age 88, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at University Medical Center.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Coxburg, Miss., and had lived in Vicksburg for over 20 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a member of Candle Lighters Sunday school class. She also attended Southside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Annie Wigley; her husband, James F. Johnson; her sisters, Frances Mildred Wigley, Sadie Juanetta Hood, Vera Katherine Wigley and Gertrude Rodgers; her brothers, Joseph Monroe Wigley, Woodrow Wilson Wigley, David Jefferson Wigley Jr. and Thomas Earl Wigley.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Johnson Lee and her husband, Terry, of Vicksburg; a brother, William Ned Wigley of Yazoo City; two grandchildren, Nicholas Woods and his wife, Angel, and Christopher Woods; and two great-grandchildren, Callie and Zoe Woods.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Greg Clemts and Billy Brumfield officiating. Burial and a graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Lakewood South Cemetery in Jackson. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Woods, Christopher Woods, Nicholas Woods, Shelton Raner, Ed Minella, Carl Johnson, Mark Dement and James Davidson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Howard Johnson.
