On the agenda:

Meeting Monday, the Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen:

• Took the following bids under advisement: $148.89 a ton from Falco Lime of Vicksburg for pebble lime; a bid by line item from Custom Products of Jackson for traffic management supplies such as barricades; three bids for a crane and equipment service bed: $31,985 from H&H Chief Sales of Carthage, $23,840 from Truck and Trailer Equipment Sales of Jackson and $28,234.71 from Magnolia Wrecker Services of Brandon; bids by line item for sand, gravel and rock from Delta Stone and Miller Materials, both of Vicksburg, and Dickerson and Bowen of Jackson.

• Accepted a proposal to finance the city’s $7.6 million energy efficiency and gas and water replacement projects from Trustmark Bank. Trustmark will finance the $5.5 million gas and water meter replacement at a 2.15 percent interest rate, and the $2.1million energy efficiency project at 2.65 percent.

• Approved transferring $14,000 from the administration’s debt service budget to the capital fund budget for work in the mechanical room at the Yazoo & Mississippi Valley Railroad Depot on Levee Street.

• Authorized Mayor Paul Winfield to sign an agreement to purchase cell phones and service from C Spire Wireless through a state contract.

• Authorized Winfield to sign the final documents for the installation of a generator at the water treatment plant. The $639,003 project was financed through a Mississippi Development Agency Katrina Community Development Block Grant.

• Authorized the mayor to sign an agreement accepting a $28,495 Violence Against Women Grant from the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

• Authorized Winfield to sign an agreement with Pillar Design Studios of Chicago to oversee construction of the skate park at City Park at $3,400 per trip.

Pillar also has the contract to design the skate park, which is funded by a $100,000 Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks grant. Pillar fee for designing the park is $10,000.

• Approved modifying the budget for the USDA Farmers’ Market Promotion grant to buy a trailer to hold equipment for the market.

Grants administrator Marcia Weaver said the $1,500 for the trailer was released after a website for the market was done in-house by the city’s information technology department.

• Authorized Winfield to sign an agreement with the Mississippi State Fire Academy for airport refresher firefighter training and the pumper driver/operator training for Vicksburg firefighters.

• Passed a resolution adopting a street and road sign maintenance program with the Central Mississippi Planning and Development District.

• Passed a resolution joining the Central Mississippi HOME Investor Partnership Program consortium and authorized Winfield to sign the consortium agreement.

The vote on the resolution was 2-1 with South Ward Alderman Sid Beaumam dissenting. Beauman questioned whether the board could obligate a new board to the three-year program. City elections are in June 2013.

• Authorized city buildings and inspection director Victor Gray-Lewis to clean and clear the following properties: 1401 Locust St. and 207 Rhodes Drive.

• Approved adding parks and recreation employees Jeffery Kennedy, Bennie Smith and Ben Davis to the city employee driving list.
