13 pitching in to act as campaign cabinet members

Thirteen people will help campaign chairman Amy Haygood in an attempt to reach the United Way of West Central Mississippi 2012 fundraising goal of $1,480,000. The divisions and their leaders.

Jill Ledet is a senior accountant at May and Company, and this is her third year to lead Account Managers.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants, Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Cutting Horse Association and the Lions Club.

Ledet is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She is married to Jeremy Ledet.

Commercial

Terisa Cochran, chairman

Terisa Cochran is a banker with Guaranty Bank.

She has been a United Way campaign coordinator for three years and served as a Donor Investment Education panel member, Donor Investment Basic Needs panel member and a telemarketing volunteer and an account associate.

She is a member of the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce, Over the River Run committee and MIDD-West Industries board.

Cochran is a graduate of Mississippi State University and attends Hawkins United Methodist Church. She and her husband, David, have three children and four grandchildren.

Large Firms

Marion Roberson, chairman

Marion Roberson is a financial adviser with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

He has been a volunteer with United Way since 2000 and has served as chair of the Prospect and Leadership divisions.

He is a member of the YMCA Y’s Men’s Club. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club, YMCA and United Way of West Central Mississippi.

Roberson is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He and his wife, Ann, have three children.

Leadership

John Paris, chairman

John Paris is the managing partner and a shareholder in the firm at May and Company.

He is a member of the Warren County Historical Society, Southern Heritage Air Museum, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Paris is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He and his wife, Jane, have two children.

Local Government

Angela Brown, co-chairman

Angela Brown is the Warren County tax assessor.

This is her fourth year to serve as Local Government chairman for United Way. She has also been a Donor Investment Health Panel member and served on the Board of Directors for United Way.

She is a member of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary and a volunteer with the Store House Food Pantry, Relay for Life and the Child and Parent Center. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Salvation Army.

She is a member of Word of Faith Christian Center, where she is a Sunday school teacher.

Brown is a graduate of Hinds Community College and Jackson State University and has two daughters.

Marie Thompson, co-chairman

Marie Thompson is the City of Vicksburg’s intergovernmental policy adviser.

This is her second time to serve as Local Government co-chairman for United Way.

She is a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and Mississippi Municipal League. She serves on the boards for the Child and Parent Center, Salvation Army, AmeriCorps NCCC working group and Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition.

Thompson is a graduate of San Diego State University and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She has three children and three grandchildren.

Pacesetters

Johnny Reynolds Sr., co-chairman

Johnny Reynolds Sr. is a patient advocate at River Region Health System.

He has been a supporter of United Way for more than 25 years and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2002.

He is a member of the Port City Kiwanis Club and serves as co-chairman for Community Cares at River Region. He serves on the boards for the Salvation Army, Riverfest, Red Carpet Bowl and United Way. He is a volunteer with United Way Teen HELP Interact Club and Keystone Ministries. He has been a Junior Miss pageant judge for seven years.

Reynolds attends Locust Grove Baptist Church, and he and his wife, Annie, have four children.

Nathaniel Williams, co-chairman

Nathaniel Williams is a tax field representative with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security.

He is a male mentor for Vicksburg Family Development and a football and basketball referee for the YMCA. He serves as president of the Vicksburg Junior High Parent Teacher Organization and is on the boards for RiverFest and Make a Promise Coalition. He serves as choir director for Shiloh M.B. Church, Mount Carmel youth choir and Springhill youth choir.

Williams is a graduate of Jackson State University and attends Ebenezer M.B. Church, where he is a choir director. He and his wife, Esther, have five children.

Professional

Leslie Sadler, chairman

Leslie Sadler is an attorney with Ellis, Braddock and Dees.

She is a member of the Junior Auxiliary of Vicksburg, the Warren County Bar Association and the Mississippi Bar Association. She serves on the Paws Rescue Board of Directors and the Rotary Club Board of Directors.

She is a graduate of Mississippi State University and Mississippi College and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and First Presbyterian Church. She and her husband, Rob, have one son.

Schools

Charlotte Grant, co-chairman

Charlotte Grant is an administrative assistant at the Vicksburg Warren School District central office.

This is her second year to serve as schools coordinator for United Way. She is a participant in the Annual Day of Caring.

Grant is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She and her husband, Roy, have two daughters and four grandchildren.

Karen Stambaugh, co-chairman

Karen Stambaugh is a special education case manager with the Vicksburg Warren School District.

This is her second year to serve as Schools chairman with United Way.

She is a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland.

Stambaugh has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s degree from Crown College in Minnesota. She has one son.

Small Business

Audrey Sylvester, chairman

Audrey Sylvester is an assistant vice president with Trustmark Bank and branch manager of the Battlefield Office.

She is an ambassador with the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce and serves as the Adopt-A-School coordinator for Warren Central High School.

She is a member of Mount Eden M.B. Church and has three children.

Ken Hicks, chairman

Ken Hicks is a managing partner at May Financial Group.

He has been a United Way board and campaign chairman, and he served as Large Firms co-chairman in 2011.

He is a member of Vicksburg Rotary Club and chairman of the Finance Committee for Audubon Mississippi. He is a board member of the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce.

Hicks is a graduate of Mississippi State University, and he and his wife, Margaret, have four children and five grandchildren.
