EAGLE LAKE — Madeline “Nell” Mendrop died Friday, June 22, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 87.

Mrs. Mendrop was born in Utica and had lived in the Eagle Lake community for a number of years. She retired from the Corps of Engineers, where she was chief purchasing agent for her division.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Mendrop; her parents, Isaac and Thelma Buford; and two brothers.

She is survived by two sons, Robert B. Mendrop of Edwards and Martin Mendrop of Vicksburg; two daughters, Bette Warner of Eagle Lake and Vickie Gann of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Barbara Hite officiating. Burial will be at Porters Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon Wednesday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Destry McDaniel, Chase Nevels, Chuck Paul, Greg Phillips, Randy Gay and James Mendrop.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. George Abraham, Glenn Dykes, David Williams and Jason Sykes.
