Frances Ann Baggett Dornbusch

EDINBURG, Texas — Frances Ann Baggett Dornbusch, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at her home in Edinburg, Texas.

A former resident of Vicksburg, she was born in Rosedale, Miss., to Newt and Sara Baggett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Perry Dornbusch of Edinburg, and her sister, Marcella Robinson of Indianola.

She is survived by her children, Helen and Al Timm-reck of Edinburg, Ed and Kathy Dornbusch of Vicksburg and Vina Dornbusch; nephew, David and Kay Robinson; niece, Ann Hale; grandchildren, Albert and Nicole Timmreck, Ashley and Jet Sadorra, Stephen and Elizabeth Timmreck, Audrey and Christian de la Cruz, Daniel and Elise Dornbusch, Alisha and Clement Dornbusch; and nieces and nephews, Tom and Wade Robinson, Robert and Cristina Tweedy and Sara Hale; and great-grandchildren, Nola Marie Timmreck and Lera Marcella Tweedy.

A graduate of MSCW, Ms. Dornbusch held two master’s degrees, one in history and one in musical performance. She was first chair snare drummer in the Mississippi All State Lions Band of 1950-51. She taught history at Hinds Junior College and, after moving to Texas, she taught at Sharyland Junior High School where she was chosen Outstanding Teacher of the Year.

Ms. Dornbusch was a longtime member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church in Vicksburg and an active choir member of First United Methodist Church of Edinburg. She was an avid tennis player and genealogist who exhibited a passion and zest for life. The matriarch of her family, her strong love, encouragement and devotion will be greatly missed by them and her many lifelong friends.

A musical celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the First Methodist Church of Edinburg. Interment will be held in Indianola at a date to be announced.
