Shametra Stamps

EDWARDS — Services for Shametra “MeMe” Stamps will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at United M.B. Church with the Rev. Elzie O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star M.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.

Ms. Stamps died Friday, June 22, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident. She was 30.

Ms. Stamps was a member of Mount Moriah M.B. Church. She attended Edwards Elementary and Hinds County Agricultural High School. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served two tours of duty in Iraq. She was an employee of the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Horace and Willie Ruth Stamps and Mitchart and Frankie M. Reese.

Survivors include her children, Kavarion Ahmad Stamps and Arian Jamarri Patterson, both of Edwards; her mother, Wanda Stamps of Edwards; four brothers, Anfernee Stamps of Edwards and James Golson, Gregory Clifton and Brandon Clifton, all of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Tremekia Cochran of Ridgeland and Jamie Golson of Norfolk; and aunts, uncles, great-aunts and -uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
