Regions Bank employees Thursday helped Vicksburg police nab a man suspected in a forgery that stemmed from a May 22 burglary in the 1300 block of Spring Street, a police report said.

Phennix Givens, 37, 1214 Main St. was arrested at 4:30 p.m. after he sent a minor to cash a $700 personal check at the bank’s main branch at 825 Crawford St., Vicksburg police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

The burglary victim had notified the bank that a book of checks was missing from the home when a pistol and various electronics valued at $1,150 were stolen. Bank employees called police when the check was examined, Stewart said.
