Mav6’s Harrison receives tech award

Jay Harrison, managing director of Mav6 LLC of Vicksburg, an aerospace and defense technology company, has received the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for technology in the Gulf Coast Region, according to Ernst & Young.

The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Harrison was selected by an independent panel of judges.

Mav6 was founded in 2007 by Harrison and retired Army Maj. Gen. Buford “Buff” Blount, to use commercial technology innovation to develop more efficient solutions to problems in defense and national security.
