EDWARDS — Services for Leroy Barnes Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Oak Ridge M.B. Church with the Rev. Walter Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Thursday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Mr. Barnes died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. He was 76.

A native of Claiborne County, Mr. Barnes had been an Edwards resident for more than 50 years. He was a retired contractor and logger.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Funches Barnes; a son, Leroy Barnes Jr..; his parents, Thomas and Alice Barnes; two brothers, Thomas Barnes and Jimel Barnes; five sisters, Frances Johnson, Carrie Hall, Maggie Burns, Mattie Hill and Annie Willis; and a granddaughter, Kathy Funches.

Survivors include four daughters, Bobby Ann Funches and Angela Barnes, both of Edwards, and Janice Barnes and Tammy Barnes, both of Vicksburg; three sons, J.B. Barnes and Kevin Barnes, both of Edwards, and Willie C. Barnes Sr. of Utica; two sisters, Katie Joseph of New Orleans and Judy Goins of Detroit; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
