PORT GIBSON — David L. Jones died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He was 68.

Mr. Jones was a member of Morningstar M.B. Church. He worked as a logger for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Sr. and Eva Coleman Jones; and a brother, Ernest Hall Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Lucinda Jones of Port Gibson; a daughter, De’Shondra Jones of Port Gibson; a stepdaughter, Deana Baker-Reeves of Canton; four brothers, Allen Jones Jr., Nathaniel Jones and Ronnie Jones, all of Port Gibson, and Walter Johnson of Atlanta; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morningstar M.B. Church with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery. Visitation is today from 1 until 6 at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
