RAYMOND — Gordan Lamar Land, 86, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, preceded by visitation at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Raymond Cemetery.

Gordan was born in Kosciusko to Raymond T. and Velma Land. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Division in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Purple Heart. He served the Raymond community as owner of Land’s Auto Sales.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Craig Henry; brother, James Land; sisters, Doris Quave and Elaine Farthing; and son-in-law, George Brock. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Inez Patterson Land of Raymond; children, Geraldine Banes (Charlie) of Raymond, Charlene Brock of Raymond, Charlotte Henry (Maxie) of Vicksburg and Melissa Washburn (John) of Raymond; grandchildren, Sandra Stocks (Chad), Janet Mohler (Chuck), Lea Kirby (Tim), Amanda Coutch (Phillip), Collin Brock (Charlis), David Henry (Amy), Daniel Henry (Jennifer), Ben Washburn (Kristy) and Jessica Walters (Ragan); great-grandchildren, Carly, Ty, Seth, John Mark, Justin, Jake, Allie, Kate, Bryce, Audrey Layne, Caroline and Jimmy; brother, W.T. (Bill) Land of Richland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
