Generals rally past M-Braves

The Mississippi Braves took the lead early, but the Jackson Generals snatched it back late.

Kalian Sims tripled and scored the go-ahead run on a single by Rich Poythress in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday, giving Jackson a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the M-Braves.

The Generals scored single runs in the fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings. Joe Leonard had given the M-Braves a 3-0 lead with a two-run homer in the third.

The loss was the second in a row for the M-Braves following a season-high four-game winning streak. They’ll conclude their series at Jackson tonight, then return to Trustmark Park to open a series against Chattanooga on Saturday night.
