Raymond Reed “Rusty” Henderson Jr. died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 54.
Rusty was born on July 25, 1957, in Vicksburg and graduated from Porters Chapel Academy in 1976. He was employed at the Waterways Experiment Station, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 35 years, retiring in May of 2012. He was a member of the Warrenton Independent Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rob Henderson.
Rusty is survived by his daughter, Kelly Elaine Henderson of Corsicana, Texas; his father and stepmother, Raymond and Jerrie Henderson of Mendenhall; his mother and stepfather, Joan and Allan Leese of Vicksburg; his brother, Randy Henderson of Robinsonville, Miss.; his sister, Laurie Henderson Thompson of Warren, Ohio; two nephews, Drew Thompson of Kent, Ohio, and Brandon Henderson of Ruston, La.; and his niece, Blaire Thompson of Warren, Ohio.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Curtis officiating, assisted by the Revs. Billie Abraham and Josie Williams. Rusty will be interred at the foot of his grandmother’s grave in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Crutchfield, Doug Brister, Drew Thompson, Brandon Henderson, Jasper Lummus and Allan Leese.
Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Pace, Jessie Ross, John Boone, Johnny Hartley and Dr. Michael Davis.
