McLaughlin weds Dowe May 12

Kenneth Michael McLaughlin Jr. and Kimberly Ann Dowe were married at 6 p.m. May 12, 2012, at Woodlawn Baptist Church. The Rev. Kent Campbell officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Robert P. Dowe Jr. and Rox Ann Dowe, both of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde E. McCombs of Vicksburg and Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Dowe Sr. of Utica.
The groom is the son of Kenneth M. McLaughlin Sr. and Elizabeth B. McLaughlin, both of Hattiesburg. He is the grandson of John J. Bethea Sr. and the late Elizabeth Bethea and the late Mr. and Mrs. James W. McLaughlin, all of Hattiesburg.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were amethyst and white. Nuptial music was presented by Donna Harper, pianist; and Lauren Powers and Brian Wells, soloists.
Matron of honor was Robyn Dowe Wells of Vicksburg. Bridesmaids were Catherine Bryant Bell of Madison; Candis Beard Hall of Brandon; and Amy Jackson Rainer, Ashley Elizabeth Sevier, Lynsey Danielle Smith and Susan Whittenberg, all of Vicksburg. Junior bridesmaid was Clover Ann McGowan of Vicksburg.
James Jefferson McLaughlin of Freeport, Texas, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeffrey David Ellis, Shaun Robert Stanton and Cameron Louis Wells, all of Vicksburg; Jason Donald Johnston of Hattiesburg; Daniel Ray Martin of Prentiss; and Jacob Christopher Smith of Purvis. Junior groomsman was Jonathan David Wells of Vicksburg.
Ushers were Travis Ford Bethea of Meridian; Derek Lane Sims and Danny Jack Slade, both of Hattiesburg; and Edgar Erle Smith IV of Charleston.
Flower girls were Lona Kate McGowan and Breanna Dowe Wells, both of Vicksburg. Ring bearer was Nicholas Dowe McGowan of Vicksburg.
Program attendant was Natalie Paige Fowler of Vicksburg. Special wedding assistant was Ann Moore.
A reception followed at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club, where guests were entertained by the Ben Shaw Band.
For a wedding trip, the couple traveled on a cruise to the Western Caribbean. They will make their home in Vicksburg.
The bride and groom are both employed at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Engineer Research and Development Center.
