Nearly a dozen mailboxes were damaged Thursday in a spree of vandalism, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

At least 11 mailboxes were discovered smashed Thursday night and Friday morning in areas around the county, Pace said.

“We have every reason to believe they all were vandalized at the same time,” Pace said.

No arrests have been made, but he said the vandals face misdemeanor malicious mischief charges.

“There is nothing about vandalism that is considered a childish prank,” Pace said.
