Samuel L. Moore died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at River Regional Medical Center. He was 77.

Mr. Moore was a retired employee of Marathon-LeTourneau and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Viola Tubbs Moore; and a sister, Lue Anne Moore Sanders.

Survivors include a nephew, James D. Sanders Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; five nieces, Susan Wright and Mary Sanders of Vicksburg, Vera Nickell of Cleburne, Texas, Barbara Miller of Hattiesburg and Gladys Ross of Pascagoula; two great-nephews; eight great-nieces; six great-great-nieces; and three great-great-nephews.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. Daniel Edney and Bill Pierce and the nurses and staff of River Region Medical Center and Promise Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at White Oak Cemetery near Carpenter.

Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
