A Vicksburg police officer has been suspended without pay pending an investigation into a resident’s complaint.
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the suspension of officer Anthony Stevens Monday after a 35-minute executive session.
Police Chief Walter Armstrong said the suspension’s length would depend on the investigation.
Neither Armstrong nor Mayor Paul Winfield would comment about the complaint.
A call to Stevens’ home this morning was answered by his mother, who said he would not comment.
