Leaf blowers stolen while grass mowed at Vicksburg church

Brazen thieves stole leaf blowers from the trailer of a lawn company while employees mowed grass at a church in temperatures in the mid-80s Tuesday.

Two Stihl backpack blowers valued at $425 each were stolen at about 9:30 a.m. from the trailer in the Church of Christ parking lot at 3333 N. Frontage Road, said Vicksburg Capt. Bobby Stewart.

Two other thefts were reported in the city Tuesday.

At 7:34 a.m., four rims and tires valued at $440 each were reported stolen from a 2007 Nissan Versa in the 100 block of Fleetwood Drive, he said.

At 12:58 p.m., a Sony PlayStation 3 game console valued at $200 was reported stolen from a home in the 900 block of Polk Street, Stewart said.
