Bobbie Jean Jordan

PORT GIBSON — Bobbie Jean Jordan died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 81.
A native of Mount Olive, she had lived in Port Gibson for most of her life. She was formerly employed as a telephone operator for South Central Bell before working for Meyer Marx Drug Store, which she and her husband owned and operated. She was a member of Hyland Chapter No. 147 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Port Gibson United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, J.H. “Pete” Jordan and Earl Jordan.
Survivors include a son, Jesse H. Jordan Jr. of Port Gibson; two daughters, Cathie C. Tate of Canton and Jan J. Slayton of Port Gibson; three sisters, Virginia Reynolds of St. Petersburg, Fla., Ann Tolleson of Mount Olive and Sammie K. Lewis of Gulfport; two brothers, Charles Ray Stuckey of Mount Olive and John Edward Stuckey of Brandon; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. Margaret Ayers officiating. Interment will follow at the Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson. Visitation will be until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Woody Wigley, Chris Dunn, Edgar Cain, Buddy Howard, Cody Parker and Dr. Eddie Lipscomb.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Paul Pierce III, Bill Jordan, Fred Stuart and Dr. Betty Lipscomb.
