Tom Caruthers and Beverly Blackmon Shipp, both of Vicksburg, will be married at 6 p.m. Aug. 10, 2012, at Crawford Street United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the church.

The bride-elect, a widow, is the mother of three children: Robert G. Baker (Nancy) of Pensacola, Fla., James Darrell Baker (Loretta) of Utica and the late Timothy Vernon Baker.

The prospective groom, a widower, has three children: Tom Caruthers (Joy Georgia), Mike Caruthers (Wanda) and Gail Meacham (Sidney), all of Vicksburg.

Both 83, they were members of the Class of 1947 at Carr Central High School. Both are retired and will make their home in Vicksburg.
