The engagement of Rasheda J. Sims to Jamie M. Cartwright is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25, 2012, at The Belmont Mansion in Nashville. A reception will follow. Attendance is by invitation only.

Miss Sims is the daughter of Robert Sims of Snellville, Ga., and Julia Sims of Bolton. She is the granddaughter of Leola Mounger of Bolton and the late Louis Sims Sr. and Pecolia Sims of Vicksburg.

Mr. Cartwright is the son of the late John T. Cartwright and Melzena Cartwright of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank James Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Cartwright.

The bride-elect is a 1996 graduate of Warren Central High School. She attended Jackson State University.

The prospective groom is a 1994 graduate of Vicksburg High School. He attended Alcorn State University.
