City woman jailed in theft of shirts in May

A Vicksburg woman accused of felony shoplifting was held without bail today.

Shalonda Williams, 32. 1213 Clay St., was arrested on a warrant for felony shoplifting at 10:46 p.m. Monday by Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department and returned to Vicksburg, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

Williams is accused of helping Jason Lane, 25, 400 Mission 66, Apartment B1, to steal 10 Polo shirts valued at $89.50 each from Dillard’s, 3505 Pemberton Square Blvd., in May, Stewart said.

Lane was arrested and charged July 12 and was indicted last week by the Warren County grand jury.

Williams was held this morning at police headquarters awaiting her initial court appearance.
