David A. Volk of Vicksburg died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at the Veterans’ Administration in Jackson. He was 58.

Mr. Volk was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and lived most of his live in Vicksburg. He graduated from H.V. Cooper High School in 1961 and worked for Cooper Lighting and LeTourneau Inc. He was an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by a daughter, Allison Volk of Vicksburg; and an uncle, Ben Ross.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Burns Volk; his father, Earnest J. Volk Jr.; and his mother, Frances Ross Volk.

A celebration of life will be at 7 p.m. Monday Aug. 13 at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gerg Moseley, Ben Ross, Phil Tremaine and Michael Taylor.
