PORT GIBSON — Mary L. Jackson died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at her home in Port Gibson. She was 79.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Claiborne County to Willie White Sr. and Hattie Jennings. She was a homemaker and a member of King David Christian Church.
She is survived by three sons, Willie H. Bailey of Greensboro, N.C., Joe E. Bailey of Port Gibson and Verlon B. Jackson of Hammond, Ind.; four daughters, Hattie F. Barnes, Cinder L. Bailey, Carolyn J. Dorsey and Arodesia J. Burden, all of Port Gibson; two brothers, Willie White Jr. of Battle Creek, Mich., and Kenneth White of Pearl; two sisters, Ladonna Davis of Port Gibson and Lottie Smith of Hammond; 17 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at King David Christian Church with the Rev. Percy Terrell officiating. Burial followed at Hermanville Cemetery.
