Three Vicksburg men face felony charges after an accidental shooting on Grammar Street, Vicksburg police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

He said Kyle Fulgham, 20, 1212 Grammar St., was wounded when a friend was examining his Smith & Wesson .357-caliber handgun and it went off, and the bullet passed through a wall and hit Fulgham, who was in the other room, in the right shoulder. He was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, Stewart said.

He said Quentin Taylor, 20, 1211 Grammar St., who was handling the gun, was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Another person in the home, Anthony Cortezie, 19, also of 1212 Grammar St., was charged with tampering with evidence, because he hid the gun when officers arrived. Both were being held without bond in the Issaquena County Jail awaiting an initial appearance in municipal court.

Stewart said police later arrested Fulgham’s brother, Cory Fulgham, 18, 530 Steele Drive, on a warrant charging him in an unrelated case with the Aug. 5 theft of a Bursa .380-caliber handgun and six rings from Fulgham’s home. He said Cory Fulgham was arrested when he went to the hospital to check on his brother. He was being held without bond in the Issaquena County Jail awaiting an initial appearance in municipal court.
