Services for Riley G. Summers Jr. will be at noon Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Summers died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at his home. He was 86.

He was born May 16, 1926, in Vicksburg to the Rev. Riley Sr. and Leola Summers. He was a former member of John Westry Baptist Church. He completed basic training in Custer, Mich., and served in the Army for four years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Inez “Bay” Minor Summers; a brother, Sonny Green; a sister, Ardella Summers; and two grandsons, Frederick Summers and Calvin Harper.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Summers, Riley Summers III and Thomas Summers; four daughters, Brenda Summers, Bernetta Summers, Kathy Summers and LaTonya Thomas; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Barbara Summers Parker, David Summers and members of the Harrison, Parker, Wilson, Thomas, Minor, Stewart and Tate families of Vicksburg.
