A traffic stop Thursday on Washington Street resulted in the arrest of a Vicksburg man on a warrant accusing him of felony aggravated assault, Vicksburg police Sgt. Troy Kimble said.

He said Yancey Frank Kackley, 34, 3365 U.S. 61 South Lot 18, was being held without bond in the Issaquena County Jail awaiting an initial appearance in municipal court.

Kimble said Kackley is accused of strangling his live-in girlfriend during an argument on June 8. He was arrested about 6:11 p.m. after a records check during the traffic stop revealed the warrant.
