Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Shelby announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Lauren of Vicksburg, to Edgar Dale Williams Jr. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Williams of Collins.

Miss Shelby is the granddaughter of Chester and Katherine Day of Vicksburg and the late W.C. and Sue Shelby of Valley Park.

Mr. Williams Jr. is the grandson of E.D. and Martha Williams of Ruleville and M.J. and Johnny Rose Gentry of Collins.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Vicksburg High School and a 2012 graduate of the Master of Occupational Therapy program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She is employed with The Summit Health and Rehab.

The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Forsyth Central High School and a 2007 graduate of Mississippi State University. He is employed with Valley Services Inc.

The wedding will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 29, 2012, at Hawkins United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at Wilsonwood Lodge. Tommy Miller will officiate.
