3 armed robberies reported in city

Three armed robberies were reported in Vicksburg in 90 minutes Tuesday night, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

A Domino’s Pizza delivery driver told police she was waved down by a man in the 3000 block of Iowa Boulevard at 10:22 p.m. as she was about to make a delivery, Stewart said.

When the man flashed a pistol, the driver handed over two pizzas, an order of chicken wings, $18 and a Samsung Galaxy cellphone, he said.

The man fled on foot near Iowa Avenue; the driver was not injured.

An hour later, a man reported being knocked to the ground while walking in the 1900 block of Poplar Street. A wallet with $40 was reported taken, Stewart said. The victim told police his attacker fled on foot toward Howard Street, Stewart said. The victim was treated and released from River Region Medical Center with a cut on his right hand, Stewart said.

At 11:55 p.m., a man was cut on left side of his chest after he was approached by another man at Cherry and China streets after the victim had left the Clark gas station at 1217 Cherry St., Stewart said. The victim had handed over a wallet with $2 inside, Stewart said.

The victim was treated and released from River Region Medical Center after his wounds were stitched, Stewart said.
